This week I bought a B.M. Rodeo, which looks a nice Japanese made guitar by S. Yairi in Nagoya factory with mahogany back and sides and a spruce top. A chip on the back of the neck but other than that, clean. I also got a message through the website about a Terada 12 string acoustic with “songbird” on the scratchplate. He wanted to know a bit more about it – tricky with all the 70s Japanese factories as not always catalogued. Did a bit of digging and found that they produced guitars for Ibanez, Epiphone, Gretsch and some self branded and as per the period, they did produce a 12 string “hummingbird” copy. A lot of positive comments about Terada guitars on forums.
